Privacy
Last updated: October 30, 2026
Lumen Technologies Inc. ("Lumen", "we") respects your privacy. This page explains what personal information we collect through lumentech.org, why, and what choices you have. We aim to collect only what we need.
Who is responsible
Our privacy officer is responsible for protecting your personal information. Write to privacy@lumentech.org.
What we collect
- Contact form. If you write to us, we receive your name, work email address, your company name if you give it, the type of need you select, your message, and the language you used. We collect this only when you submit the form and tick the consent box.
- Technical data. Our hosting provider processes your IP address and basic request details to deliver the site and keep it secure. We do not use this to identify you or build a profile.
- Your browser. If you choose a dark or light theme, your browser remembers that choice on your device. It is not sent to us.
Audience statistics
To understand which pages are useful, we count visits with a privacy-friendly tool that we run ourselves in Canada. It uses no cookies and does not store your IP address or any identifier on your device. It records the page visited, the referring site, your country, your browser and device type, and your language. It never receives the contents of the contact form, and it respects your browser's Do Not Track setting. Data is kept for 14 months.
What we do not do
We do not use advertising or tracking cookies, we do not follow you across other sites, and we do not load third-party scripts or fonts on this site. We do not sell personal information.
Why we use it
To reply to your enquiry and, if we work together, to prepare and run the engagement. Our legal basis is your consent, and our legitimate interest in answering messages sent to us.
Who receives it
Our staff and the service providers that work for us: Google (Firebase Hosting for the site; Cloud Run and Firestore in Montréal for your enquiry; Google Workspace when we reply to you by email) and Slack (an internal alert with your name, company, the need you selected and a link to our dashboard, never your message). They may use it only to provide those services.
Where it is stored
In Canada (Montréal). If any provider processes data outside Quebec or Canada, we make sure it is protected to an equivalent standard and tell you here: our email replies, sent through Google Workspace, and the Slack alert may be processed outside Canada, including in the United States, under those providers' contractual safeguards.
How long we keep it
Enquiries that do not lead to an engagement are deleted after 12 months. Information for clients is kept for as long as the engagement and our legal obligations require.
Your rights
You may ask to see, correct or delete the personal information we hold about you, withdraw your consent, or ask a question about how we handle it. Write to privacy@lumentech.org; we answer within 30 days. If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, you also have the right to object, to restrict processing, to receive your data in a portable format, and to complain to your data protection authority. In Quebec you may contact the Commission d'accès à l'information.
Security
We use encrypted connections and limit access to the people who need it. If an incident presents a risk of serious harm, we will notify you and the authorities as the law requires.
Changes
If we change this page in a way that matters, we update the date above and, where required, ask for your consent again.
Cookies and similar technologies
Today the only items stored on your device are your theme preference and your language choice, which you set yourself, and your scroll position, which is erased when you close the tab. None of them identifies you, and our audience statistics use no cookies. If we ever add tools that do need your consent, we will ask first, and you will be able to change your mind through the "Cookie settings" link in the footer.
